• Jaguar I-PACE uitgeroepen tot World Car of the Year 2019
• I-PACE wint ook titels World Green Car 2019 en World Car Design of the Year 2019
• Internationale jury zeer te spreken over diverse kwaliteiten van Jaguar I-PACE
De volledig elektrische Jaguar I-PACE is tijdens de uitreiking van de World Car Awards (WCOTY) op de New York International Auto Show (19 t/m 28 april) maar liefst drie keer in de prijzen gevallen. De I-PACE won de overall titel World Car of the Year 2019, maar werd ook verkozen tot de fraaist ontworpen auto ter wereld in de categorie World Car Design of the Year. Het winnen van de titel World Green Car 2019 vormt de kers op de taart.
De winnaar van de WCOTY 2019 werd dit jaar gekozen door een 86-koppige jury uit 24 landen. De Jaguar I-PACE was voor de 2019-editie van de World Car Awards (WCOTY) maar liefst drie keer genomineerd. Allereerst voor de belangrijkste titel: World Car of the Year 2019. De I-PACE bleef in de eindstrijd de Audi e-tron en de Volvo S60/V60 voor.

Tweede World Car of the Year-award
Het is de tweede ‘World Car of the Year’-award voor Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). In 2017 ontving de veelzijdige Jaguar F-PACE deze titel. De F-Pace won in datzelfde jaar bovendien de titel World Car Design of the Year. Die designprijs wordt nu ook uitgereikt aan de Jaguar I-PACE. In categorie World Car Design of the Year bleef de I-PACE de Suzuki Jimny en de Volvo XC40 voor.
Het is overigens al de vijfde keer dat Jaguar Land Rover deze prestigieuze designprijs wint. De Range Rover Velar (2018), de Jaguar F-PACE (2017), de Range Rover Evoque (2012) en de Jaguar F-TYPE (2013) gingen de Jaguar I-PACE voor. Geen enkele andere autofabrikant heeft dit ook gepresteerd.

World Green Car 2019
De Jaguar I-PACE is ook verkozen tot World Green Car 2019. In deze categorie versloeg hij de Hyundai Nexo en de Audi e-tron. Het is voor het eerst dat Jaguar Land Rover deze belangrijke award in ontvangst neemt.
Jaguar Director of Design, Ian Callum: “As intuitive and as rewarding to drive as all other Jaguar models, the I-PACE uses state-of-the-art technologies to help customers get the most from every journey. The thermal management system has a smart heat pump which can scavenge energy from the outside air and the vehicle’s high-voltage electronics to heat the cabin: this reduces the load of the battery, which in turn increase ranges – even in freezing conditions.”

De combinatie van sportautoprestaties, uitzonderlijke verfijning en het praktische gebruiksgemak van een SUV maken van de I-PACE een uniek aanbod op de markt.
De Jaguar I-PACE biedt ongeëvenaarde prestaties. Hij is voorzien van een bijzonder krachtige elektrische aandrijflijn met een maximumvermogen van maar liefst 294 kW (400 pk) en een maximumkoppel van 696 Nm. Ook indrukwekkend zijn de topsnelheid van 200 km/uur en de acceleratietijd van 0 naar 100 km/uur in 4,8 seconden.
Meer dan 55 prijzen gewonnen
De I-PACE heeft sinds zijn introductie in 2018 wereldwijd al 62 prijzen gewonnen. In Duitsland Noorwegen en het Verenigd Koninkrijk won hij de nationale Auto van het Jaar-verkiezingen. Verder werd hij bekroond tot BBC TopGear magazine EV of the Year, China Green Car of the Year en hij won de Autobest ECOBEST Award. In maart 2019 werd de I-PACE op de Autosalon van Genève nog uitgeroepen tot Auto van het Jaar 2019 in de Europese Auto van het Jaar-verkiezing.
